Illawarra Greens are involved in a number of campaigns, including:-
* Protecting Sydney’s water catchments from damage through long-wall
mining, resulting in loss of water from the rivers, contamination of water
supplies, and damage to wetlands ecosystems
* Improving democracy, and helping to reduce corruption and incompetence
at the local government level by ensuring proportional representation in
future elections
* Supporting the community campaign against over-development at Sandon
Point and the destruction of Aboriginal and natural heritage
* Calling for the completion of the Maldon-Dombarton rail-link, to reduce
the amount of trucks on Illawarra’s roads and provide public transport for
people travelling to South-Western Sydney
* Working with the Save Killalea Alliance to keep public park-land out of
the hands of private developers
* Joining with people nation-wide to urge governments to take strong
action to avert climate change
