Guide: Maureen Magee, Concerned Residents of East Dapto, fresh from stopping the overdevelopment of the Tallawarra Power Station site.
Walk: Easy, mainly flat, about 2-3 hours including a lunch stop.
Afterwards those who wish can drive around to Gentles Ave Dapto from which we can see from the top of Mt. Brown out over the Lake and the power station and the northern lands. On the way there we will see the Sheargold development Stage 1 “The Pinnacles” on the slopes of Mt Brown. This is land which was Illawarra Lowland Grassy Woodland and was owned and then sold off by the state government.
Meet at 9.45 at the Gilba Rd Gate which is at the southern end of Gilba Rd. Koonawarra. Telephone book Map 44. Coming from the North, turn off the freeway at Fowlers Rd, turn left into Fowlers and follow it to Koonawarra P.S., turn right into Gilba and follow it to its end. Park near the gate without blocking the lane to the Riding School.
